Whoever interested to learn the professional work flow should register and check out the itinerary from shoot to post process to finish print. Mainly the use of good lighting is very important, without good lights you get lousy photograph. you will learn the proper way to appreciate good photos and not follow trend.

A Test on Profoto B2 Battery Pack with Pro head + Ring flash - Studio lighting

 All these test pictures were done on Profoto B2 Battery Pack with Pro Head lamps with other lighting modifier accessories.

 The very good design of Pro Head lamp's standard reflector can slide from scale 4 up to scale 10 to enhance the illumination of the light out put. below are samples of the effect starting from scale 10 to scale 4 [wide to zoom ]

The experiment done below are the same as above but this time we want to check how even is the light fall off at the edge. but to our surprise how even and consistence the illumination of the light output at all scale, no hot spot at centre or vignetting at corners of the frame.  * mind you, these two experiments are done without manipulating the power output from the power pack, only sliding the reflector on the lamp head.

This experiment is to show how soft the [bare, hard light] illuminted by Profoto lamp head on hard subject like metal, as if we have put on a soft box or diffuser to soften it. very soothing. by so saying, i am sure experience photographers will know the difference. sometimes visual effect is best let the eye interpret better than words.
we use a Pro Ring flash on lens, and one Pro head lamp attached with a medium honeycomb [no.10] placed directly behind slightly higher than the lens to create such effect.

Marcus Bell Sharing Session @ Shriro Singapore, 26 Oct 2010

During this workshop, Marcus is showing us the crucial use of Rapid studio flash firing with the Profoto-8a power pack with a beauty dish couple with a few soft box and snoot to capture the every expression of the models - making sure you dont missed that very [moment] of it. No pro photographers like to spend long hours on post processing so is best to capture it perfectly on set, so with his continuous shooting, you want to make sure all flashes setup on scene are able to follow your shutter, you dont want it spoilt your subjects perfect smile against lousy lighting's.

Marcus was sharing his dodge and burned technique on how he achieved his desired wedding photograph that sells. Also a Profoto user himself, sharing how he combine a good studio lighting mixed ambient light to achieve the result he wanted. Although working with available light can make a photographer invinsible or blend in to the wedding crowd during ceremony but at times a big studio lightings will only provide the illumination that speed light cant.

One of the set was set up with Hasselblad H4D 40 with its True Focus technology where no off focus will happen to your subject when using wide open aperture after recompose.

This Pro-8a are the Key lights on set- others are filled in for hair, backdrop and parts of model face and highlights.












2 lamps head set on highest speed with 2 separate power settings at 720/1200watts and 660/1200watts - all consistence exposure more than 20 continuous shoot with D3x SLR

the Profoto Daylight [Ballast] for movie/video making use without flickering or surged. we are trying to simulate a backlighting and flare with a portable Acute B2 on the moved to fill in  the model.









another great sub brand of Profoto is Creative Light product. Can adapt to most big brands of studio lightings with lamphead adapter only. Quality as good as its brother, nice workmanship.













This is the AcuteB2 - size is as big as 6 stacking Hardrives and no more than 5kg. love this little fella - with its 600watts of power is pretty much good enough for all SLR on location shoot as far as 100 meter on f5.6 at ISO400

Being the personal photographer to the artist;  by interpretation his work through my camera on his current work entitled: [ Playing On The Lunatic Side Of The Moon] you cannot avoid having associating those horror movies portraying the moon effects on the [ being ] like the wolf man, Dracula, the black magic perform by occult; mainly the influence of the [ Yang ] power during the night or the eclipse, where [ Negativity ] influences casting at its best on beings.
Someone might over dozed, Dog when berserk, Someone with multiple personality may take effects, Narcissistic rage. I believe the visual below speaks itself.
